Saints Assistant GM Claims Chiefs were "probably " Taking Ruiz at 32

https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2020/...-no-32-overall

S Taylor and many on here breathe a sigh of cum.

I have no beef with CHE hes going to be good for 5-7 years which is all you can ask for a pick especially at 32. I think Ruiz is going to be good for over a decade.

I thought they got rid of that?

Year 5 for Mahomes is 25 Million, so that extra year is not real cheap.

Year 5 for a RB means you don't have to sign them to a long-term deal OR lose them.

Position doesn't have anything to do with long term contract. If you want to exercise the 5th year option of a first round draft pick, you have to pay the average of the top salaries at that position. Top 10 salaries maybe?

That's correct. However, at a position like RB, where the shelf life is typically shorter than the long-term deal the player would prefer, that extra year on the rookie contract has a distinct value; you get an extra year without having to commit long-term.

Just spit ballinger Clyde would be looking at 7 million on a 5th year? Ruiz 12 million. Position matters.

That's too high on Ruiz. Unless he makes 2 pro bowls in his first 3 years. Centers and RBs are making roughly the same amount of money so the 5th year options would be about the same cost.

For reference it's an average of somewhere between the 3rd and 25th players average at his position depending on playing time and performance. Both the 25th rb and center are making 3 mil this year with the most expensive rbs making more than the most expensive centers.

Do they go by Center or group Oline?

The new cba says at the players position. Or at least the article explaining the new changes on nfl.com does.

I doubt they are lumping all the o line together. But I don't know for sure.

And the first ten picks thing doesnt exist in the new cba either.

Get back to us at the end of the season...if there is one.

I'm 100% positive CEH will have more impact than a ****ing rookie OL.

If a player is that good, he will demand to be paid or sit out.
