Zayne Anderson?
Just figured I'd give this guy his own thread, since Devon Key got one.

Key, as you know, is an UDFA who the Chiefs promoted as they got increasingly meh with Thornhill, to be the Chiefs 3rd safety in dime packages. He got rave reviews in camp, does look pretty good...

...then kind of farts out in the preseason game, including giving up an 80 yard TD.

This week, so far, the Chiefs have grounded Key on the 2nd team, and promoted ((((you guessed it)))) Zayne Anderson to the 3rd safety for the team's dime packages.

I imagine we'll see it on Friday night.

Anybody know anything about him?

Yeah think he was the highest graded rookie for us that had more than 15 snaps according to PFF. Not sure how much I saw of it but my eyesight and concentration are both awful. Safety is not a strength for us so fingers crossed.

I don't know man, he just has not been the same outside a few plays here or there. I loved the guy the first season, but since the injury he hasn't been good. I keep hoping for a return to form, but each game it just seems less likely he will. Seeing Dirty Dan out there with the starters is frustrating.

Oft-injured safety with experience in a variety of schemes and the athletic ability to offer some versatility. The measurables were great at his pro day, but he doesn't play to his size, lacking tackle strength and heavy pads. Inconsistent entry points as tackler.
Below-average tackle strength and physicality
