That is 100% why this is different than all these other viruses and diseases that people keep comparing it to. We aren't all going to die and there's no reason to panic, but this thing has no treatment and you can have it for a week or more and spread it around and not know it. The only way to stop it is to keep people away from other people. |

I am not saying there isn’t legit concern about the threat of COVID-19, but it is unclear why the reaction to COVID-19 is way more intense than the public response to the Swine Flu pandemic in 2009-2010. The Swine Flu was actually way more deadly among younger people than COVID-19 currently is. Nearly 13,000 Americans died from the Swine Flu pandemic yet the public hysteria never approached what we are seeing now with COVID-19. |
