(Way too early) 2025 Round 1 Chiefs Targets
With the football season kicking off soon, I’m curious to know which positions we will target, and who the players are at those positions that we should be watching.
What say you? |

- DT makes a ton of sense
- LB is a low positional value, but if there’s a Bolton replacement sitting there, it might not be a bad take if we don’t think we can extend him. - WR might not be terrible if Brown leaves - CB could be the move if one of the young dudes fails to impress in Sneeds absence - Edge is a high positional value, if FAU doesn’t step up |

Edit: Just realized round 1... I'd say DE, DT (if value is right), CB, or WR |

DL is the obvious candidate with Omenihu ostensibly leaving and FAU not developing.
But I think we’re going to be grousing about the CB position all year. |

Yeah pass rusher of some kind of Felix doesn’t show anything. Corner is high on the list bc 4 of them will be in contract years being from the 2022 class.
IOL is also gonna be a need IMO |

Keep hitting the DE button until it breaks.

DL.
OG, LB, CB, RB, WR are all targets as well, but let's give CJ some help in RD 1. |

WHICH DL/DE's will be available at #32 next draft?
"31. Kansas City Chiefs Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan* Holes are hard to find for the back-to-back champs, but after drafting just one defensive tackle over the past five years (Keondre Coburn in the sixth round in 2023), Kansas City could use a little depth in the pipeline to play alongside Chris Jones. Grant's combination of power and size (6-3, 339 pounds) makes him impossible to hold down for a full game. His disruption against the pass can't be measured solely in sacks (3.5 in 2023), as he often forces quarterbacks off their marks and speeds up their processes by getting pressure." - ESPN YATES Last edited by Couch-Potato; 08-22-2024 at 07:27 AM.. |

Wouldn't hate a DT there....but you're looking for more than a traditional run stuffer. I dunno much about Grant, but I'd rather look at DE's early.

You just can't have too many productive edge rushers or cornerbacks in today's game.

Yep DE or CB, but I wouldn't hate another WR. The FA market looks fairly decent for DTs and DEs in particular and I wonder if it's time to invest in a proven commodity along the DL and swing for a CB to develop. I wouldn't resign Omenihu but I would be happy seeing the money pushed back into the DL.
