Way too early 2021 wish list

Rondale Moore of Purdue has been one of my favorite guys to follow the past few years.

He'd be a great replacement for Watkins and is a guy who can also do a little bit of everything on the field.

We’re going to be in dire need at five positions:

WR
interior line
DE
Sam ‘backer
CB

We can mitigate that some of we re-sign some guys like Kpassagnon and Pringle. Would also help if we saw immediate development by guys like Sneed, Rankins, or Niang.

But moves will need to be made elsewhere. Not breaking news, I know.

Despite losing a lot at the end of the season, we should have he draft capital to shore up a few positions.

Presently we have:

1st
2nd
3rd
4th
5th
7th

And Likely will be adding:

4th (comp) - Kendall Fuller
5th (comp) - Emanuel Ogbah

We will have hill and hardman (he better be ready) as our 1-2 wr punch. I dont think it's going to be a huge need. I agree with the rest of the list.

Define "dire" need.

"Dire" to me is a key piece that's now missing. I don't foresee this team having a dire need entering 2021, barring a major injury.

CB is potentially the closest thing to that; they may not be able to extend Ward for a longer period, depending on what his market is.

Jamar Chase would be ideal but hes going to be atleast a top 10 pick, maybe Surtain II will slide? Shaun Wade has been a good alot CB and I think OSU is going to move him outside since they lost a bunch of guys. Could be a player worth watching.

Moore would be at the top of my list as well. Some other WR’s I can see being a late 1 are Rashod Bateman (Minnesota) and Chris Olave (Ohio St.)

I really like Carlos Basham the DE from WF too. He’s a force and would fit in nicely at SDE when Okafor and KPass are gone.

They currently have two WRs under contract for 2021: Hill & Hardman.

The only center is Allegretti.

The projected starter across from Frank Clark is... Breeland Speaks or Michael Danna.

We do not have a Sam backer for 2021. At all.

Actually right now we have 9 wrs signed through 2021. All but one are new undrafted free agents but they all signed 3 year deals so technically are under contract. The other is Felton davis who was on IR last year.

And okafor is under contract through 2021 as well. He'll be a cut candidate if we need it with only 2 mil in dead cap but hes still there as of now.

SAM backer should come on a cheap deal. I think we're fine at LB as long as we have our WILL and MIKE.

IOL is fine with Niang, Rankin, Allegreti and now Daryl Williams (big fan of his).

I’d like to see Veach extend Damien Wilson a couple years. He won’t be very expensive at all.

Ideally I’d like us to ramp up our pass rush while getting another receiver. That should be the focus

I don’t consider SAM LB to be a dire need, not the rotational DE opposite Frank Clark. When you have huge investments in guys like Clark and Jones, you’re filling with situational guys at the other spots. Okafor could be retained as well.

WR, you’re looking for a guy who can be the 4th weapon on your squad. And I think they can either retain Robinson inexpensively or use Kalija Lipscomb if he develops.

Shaun Wade could end up the top CB coming out next year. We'll see. He's good. Better than Arnette was. Physical. That said, don't likely matter as I don't see Veach spending a top pick on a CB after what's transpired the past couple of years.

I really like WR Marquez Stevenson out of Houston as a fit for this offense. Could be a higher round pick.

Will have to watch WR Randall St. Felix out of South Florida as a Jr this year and see what he does. Was electric as a freshman and had a down So year. If he puts up numbers, he could declare early and would be a guy to put on the radar IMO.

Also interested to see WR Tarik Black in Texas (transfer from Michigan).

I like DE Carlos Basham out of Wake but I don't know if he has that athletic profile for Veach. He's more like Epenesa.

Also like DE Joe Tryon out of Washington.

I think as far as SAM, I'd keep my eyes on two Big 10 LBs, Micah Parsons out of Penn State and Paddy Fisher out of Northwestern.

Some good Centers coming out in Creed Humphrey and probably Alec Lindstrom from BC if he declares
