Dude had a strong combine back in 2016. Not that that means anything, but I thought it was interesting.

Dre' was a very good running back in the Air Raid offense at Tech.
Very good at catching balls out of the backfield. hard nose runner. Just never seemed to find his groove with the Raiders. Will be interesting if the change of scenery will help his career.

Protecting Patrick is is the utmost priority, this is part of his load management, and as I said positional value is drastically different than most teams because the Chiefs have a Future HOFER leading the Offense. Through IOL or RB it could either way in the 1st but to secure the Mahomes investment KC must do everything they can to help him immediately. Scrap pile shit, and hope's and dreams on flyers won't get it. Veach has said that he'll be looking for more options for Mahomes to work with

The thing about running backs is we don't see a HUGE difference in them like we do at other positions. What RB isn't fast, shifty, yep, they all are or they aren't playing the position. A GREAT RB will average...4.4ish, a so so RB...4.0. Hell there are HOF RB's...3.9.

i would never spend big $$$$ on any RB.

What did the Lions do when Barry Sanders was there? The Pats haven't had a slew of great RB's.

well they were at least relevant with Barry Sanders. They had a couple of good wide receivers, but not much else on that team.

Yes, when someone wants to run a decent offense with a good QB or a game manager that's building for the future with RBs being interchangeable. The sum of it's parts are the most important when team doesn't possess an elite QB(Alex Smith, Tiger), but when you have a transcendent QB that his presence alone makes a team a SB contender makes what the team better knowing the window is the present. That's why you hear getting QBs on cheap 1st round contracts because they are building for the future The offense was built to succeed immediately when Kareem was a durable feature back and helped Mahomes accomplish record breaking feats to AFCC inspite of Mr Magoo as DC.

KC faultered in the 1st half because the couldn't convert 3rd and short(s) because Damien isn't elite back with vision, quicks, and great contact balance like Kareem.

The Chiefs positional value represents what helps now considering the SB window thus IOL and RBs have greater value because you are protecting the most important asset that a team could have a Future HOF QB. You don't **** with , just OK " Because Mahomes Bro" because that ideology got him injured because of the workload without elite protection and a 3 down back that can pass protect.

Furthermore, I also hoped "Because Mahomes" would be able to overcome the average RB and OL output. Looking at the CB and LB positions to fill through FA or the draft with high capital. Then Patrick got injured which changed my tune, to help Mahomes as much as possible because he is that printing press we jest .

Yeah, the big difference today is with the guys who are great receivers (Saquon, Kamara, Cmac, Aaron Jones). We got good enough of a receiver in D Will to get by at a low cap hit.

Veach making moves but I still hope we get a decent rb in this draft if possible. The guys we have just scream "running back by rotation" and that ain't good for the long term..especially when Damian, Darrell and Dandre are all free agents next year. Also we all know Damian's injury history...if he went down are Dandre, Darrell and Darwin enough? I have my doubts. This probably means we don't take a back until the third or fourth tbh but there could still be a good one there hopefully.

He was great his rookie year, then dinged up for a couple of years. Last year was healthy, and played pretty darn well in limited action.

Providing he stays healthy, he's a perfect fit for what Reid likes to do with RBs.

Agreed. Plus he played on ST for the Raiders which is another added benefit

OR-the fact that Fisher was out and Erving was playing LT, Wylie sucks ass, Reiter is a major step down from Morse, LDT is not the same post injury meant that there were no holes open in the running game as well as being shitty enough at pass blocking to actually affect Mahomes.
