The Motorcycle Discussion Thread

I figure there are some motorcycle guys/gals on CP, so I thought we could have a place to talk all things Motorcycles.

Tire Mount and Balance Prices (as of 10/29/16)

Prices based on if you remove the wheels yourself and bring the wheels and new tires with you:

Cycle Gear - $35 per wheel if you buy tires from them. $58 per wheel if you buy tires elsewhere
Rawhide - $65 per wheel (assuming it would be the same at other HD dealers. they book it at 1/2 hr per wheel)
C R Cycle Tires (DeSoto) - $30 per wheel

Cheapest I've found my Michelin Commander II's. Seem like they have good prices on other brands too.
http://www.jakewilson.com - Free 3 day shipping on orders over $75

The color option was $500 on my bike, but whats $500 when you are spending that much money.

For me there is nothing better looking that Black and Chrome. I've had a couple black bikes I just wanted something a little different.

The other thing is taking care of black is such a pain, man it shows every little scratch.

A couple years ago I was out on easter sunday, the last thing I remember was stopping at a light and asking my wife if she was good.

The next thing I remember was waking up in the hospital a day later.

Today, the only thing that crossed my mind was, holy **** not again.

Worst part is the woman had to clue.

I was able to stop a couple feet short.

A guy pulled up to me at the next stop light rolled down his window and said "oh man good thing you paying attention."

So the wife and I decided to ride up to the Knucklehead Saloon last night for some Blues.... It was 56 or so when we left... and weather.com was saying it would get down to about 48-49 range 10 o'clock... so we bundled up and risked the ride up I-35.

We left around 9:30 and it was freaking 40... It was so damned cold, my wife was miserable....

Thinking of heading out to a biker bar tonight by Worlds of Fun... can't remember the name of it, but have a buddy that wants to try it out.

I can't wait for consistently warm weather; or, at least to the point where you don't have to worry about the god damned 15 degree temperature swings in a few hours.

I have a few biker-type hang outs that I want to check out.

I've got a birthday brunch to go to on Sunday, but after that I plan on getting some major seat time in. I'm in Lenexa.

I'm working this morning, but the rest of the weekend will be spent pounding the pavement... Anyone want to get together here in the KC area? We can run the Perry loop... or stick to a KC piggyback ride.
