Renaming the Chiefs: Round 1, Heat 15

The rules are:

1. You can vote 'yes' on as many as you like, AND you can vote 'no' on as many as you like. Feel free to run wild.

2. If you're okay with the name but not wild about it, don't vote for it in either group to give it a neutral rating.

3. You don't have the proper clearance to read Rule 3.

4. The winner of the heat will be the name that has the highest net score (yes minus no). This will reflect the name that has the most satisfaction and least disapproval. In other words, it will be the least controversial name.

The entrants have been selected randomly from the nomination thread.

As background, assume that it's 2024. President Ted Nugent has just distributed holsters to every American household. He is now seeking to build consensus across the parties, so he names Elizabeth Warren as the nation's "sports czar". Elizabeth's first order of business is to eliminate Native American-themed sports names, because there's nothing she hates more than white people making money by appropriating native american culture.

So the Chiefs have no choice but to change names. If they don't, the team will be banned and a new replacement team will be formed in Los Angeles, because if you keep putting teams there, eventually people will start watching them. (That tentative team name is the Los Angeles Trembling Fawns if you're curious.)

In a bit of good news, they're allowing the fans to select the new name, so we're on the clock. Do your best work, people.

Only if I agree with how you voted. It's kind of an autocracy around here.

My votes are below.

Positive: Archers. This name is awesome. It checks all of the boxes, and we can keep our arrowhead and colors. Whoever suggested this is a genius.

Neutral: Cottonmouths and River Otters. Both of these are great names, but neither animal seems to have a native habitat in Kansas City. Cottonmouths are close because they extend into southern Missouri, but River Otters really don't seem to get closer than the Mississippi River. I won't vote for them for that reason, but I won't vote against them since cottonmouths are close and river otters are cute.

Negative: Pitch and Hellcats. I don't know what Pitch means, and I can't even come up with a theory. Maybe it's brilliant and I'm not. Hellcats are not native to Kansas City, so I have to go with a no there.

I could buy into it, depending on what the helmet logo looks like.

What the hell where did you get this information from? I have watched Otters swimming early mornigs on Shoal and Line Creek. Their burrows and tracks all over just about every stream around KC area.

I just looked at the maps on wikipedia, which was the first thing that popped up. Are you telling me that something on the internet is wrong?

I would have voted but the best name The Kansas City Kings was not on the list...which makes it an extremely inferior list.
