FedEx asks Redskins to change name

Here we go. I think part of the reason we’ve been safe from this kind of stuff is because the Redskins have always been a bigger target. Now that there’s pressure from sponsors Snyder is going to feel the heat like never before.

If they go down, make no mistake, the mob will come for us next.

They aren't even going to try to oust him? Wow, that's a pretty iffy look.
The conspiracy folks are already going wild on Twitter. Yada yada "well it's clear Snyder has leverage over the league with what leaked today" yada yada.

I don't know about all that, but Snyder is definitely a sentry in the league's ownership. It'll speak a lot to his position in the league if the NFL tries to brush this under the rug "Robert Kraft" style.

As funny as that is. Is this some kind of harassment?
No, but it fits the narrative of a toxic culture that started from the top.

Or this article got delayed in coming out because the NFL laywers got involved and they were forced to scrub the on field portion of the article. If they were going to claim any type of fixing, payoffs etc the NFL could lawyer up and get that put on hold.
Where there's smoke there's fire. The article barely even touched the cheerleader story. Or the story about their GM exchanging story leaks for blowies. There's got to be a lot more to the story. But what we got is still a big deal by itself.

Yes, Richardson participated in sexual harassment and also tried to head off the controversy by conducting an "In-House" investigation, but the NFL superseded and sent in their own investigative team, who decided that he needed to be removed.

There's also a good chance that this article is just the tip of the iceberg and once the NFL begins its investigation, former and current employees will no longer fear for their jobs and reputations, which will most likely lead to uncovering even more poor behavior.

I just don't see how Snyder can survive an investigation. He was already extremely unpopular with the fan base and wants a new stadium for the team, which at this point, seems highly unlikely in terms of having tax payers fund it for him.

Can't disagree with any of this. There's also going to be people ****ing pissed at the lack of any punishment, whether it's #metoo or people who just hate Dan Snyder, that are going to do everything they can to get what they want.

As we've seen with the changing of their name, there will absolutely be people on both sides screaming over each other when the decision is ultimately rendered.

Such is life these days...

Yeah, those female reporters from The Athletic and The Ringer had a lot to gain from independently filing reports with their respective employers against the director of pro personnel. And the team clearly was in the right by keeping him on staff until this week when the Washington Post began asking questions and he was summarily terminated.

Good thing you only believe stuff when you have access to each and every fact.

Yeah, Snyder is hated. And he's probably a terrible person. And he absolutely presided over a terrible culture for the team.

But I think a lot of the stuff swirling on Twitter today about paying refs was just random nonsense that someone speculated about and then got passed around endlessly.

The tone of this article was in line with the tone of a lot of the leaks from the last few days. Bad, but not 'this will shake the foundation of football and all professional sports' which would've been the case if it had been alleged he paid refs.

I don't think this is enough for him to be forced to sell the team, but he was already (rightfully) hated so I'm not shocked many are trying to fast track it in that direction.

It is a stain on pro sports that bad owners are nearly impossible to get rid of. Even putting all this aside. How is there zero performance accountability for owners? I mean Snyder is universally hated by the fans, hated by other owners, and now has a major organizational scandal to his name... And people are debating about whether he'll be fired? Insane.

Schefter is just "protecting the shield".

There's no way that this WaPo article, as damning as it may be, includes absolutely everything that happened in the past 15 years and I will be absolutely shocked if he's not forced to sell.

There's just no tolerance for this type of work "environment" in 2020, nor should there be any tolerance when it comes to making the decision to oust him.

I just hope that Ron Rivera isn't a casualty, as he's already been through this nonsense in Carolina.

Yeah, I doubt he makes it through this. Just saying it's amazing it takes a bombshell to get rid of an owner. One thing if he was popular. But everyone hates him and his team sucks. Looking back it's amazing he even survived the cheerleader scandal.
