Insiders: Andy and Mahomes upset/mad

Just heard Fescoe talking about someone close to Andy that told him Andy was extremely distraught by this loss and knows he personally screwed up. This isn't just another loss. This affected Andy deeply.

I think we might see some changes going forward, especially in attention to late game situations.

The other thing I heard this morning from my source is that Mahomes was angry after the game yesterday. So angry that he was almost on the verge of tears. Going forward you might see more fire from Mahomes in leading this team and getting on others when shit goes south. Like Marino/Aikman type leadership.

Sometimes we win these games and other times we lose them. Same as always. The existence of these losses doesn't necessarily spell the end of our season just because we haven't won a Super Bowl in a generation.

Don't get me wrong: I'm not saying this was a good loss. It was a horrific, Because-Chiefs performance. But it's not like we were outplayed and didn't belong on the field as we've seen in prior pre-Mahomesian seasons.
Yup. At the end of the game, Andy Reid shit his pants.

AGAIN.

Improving the backfield personnel should definitely become our priority.
I think you nailed it here. If we had a Henry or a hunt on this team, even Andy runs the ball on 3rd and 2.

3. Jet sweep with the ball in the hands of the fastest player in the NFL

4. If you want to put the ball in the hands of Mahomes, that works as well as long as it’s not a TE screen to Blake freaking Bell who is not only terrible, but also the only option on the play.

Again, those of you who think Mahomes had no input on the play call during the timeout are clueless. We don't know, but Mahomes may have suggested it, if not, he was asked what he thought and must have liked it. It didn't work. We kick the FG there we most likely win. Those saying we should go for it on 4th down, even if it's 4th and 1 are clueless. You go up by 8. If we go for it an miss it, and they do what they did in this game and score and go up 35-32 you guys are probably more feign with anger than you are with the situaiton on the 3 and 2...

Problem is, this wasn't the only incident. Hindsight makes this cut even clear, it was the right thing. We would have got killed in the Tryeek mess, if Hunt would have still be on the team. Doing the right thing with Hunt, gave us some leeway with Hill...

You realize there is zero evidence to back this up, just your delusions right?

I mean unless you are going off the concept that Reid doesn't actually care about results.

Guess who's career legacy is on the line each week and every season?Especially now this late in his career. It sure as hell isn't yours.

20% of the league's HCs are made up of ex Reid assistant coaches, yea he doesn't care about results or the best person for the job.

It's a low percentage, inefficient play that people call for because for 50 years that's just what you did because nobody realized any better.

People always just assume it's going to be executed and everything will be wine and roses from there while forgetting that the odds of failure are only marginally lower than a swinging away and the rewards are significantly lower.

Yes, it occasionally has it's place, but far less often than people ever consider and nobody ever remembers the times it failed miserably.

This team isn't good at running the football. It's runningbacks have failed miserably in a dozen different situations and Andy Reid is possibly the best in league HISTORY at screen design. Our interior line is in tatters and everything in the world suggested that they'd look to clog the middle and stuff a running play. What has given anyone the impression that Reiter and 2 backups were just going to push the pile at that point?

Meanwhile the middle screen takes that squishy interior line and turns it into a strength if they crash down and leave space behind them.

The play didn't work - it happens. But the assumption that some inside handoff was going to obviously work is asinine, just as the belief that a screen - something that the Chiefs do better than anyone in the league - was doomed to failure.

There are a lot of things to bitch about from that game but the 3rd down play is just the epitome of Monday morning quarterbacking. Given this teams strengths/weaknesses as well as the risk/reward, that was a wholly defensible decision.
Good post. "RUN THE BALL!" is exactly what the other team is hoping we do.

Oh I'm not disputing what happened or why.

I''m just not going to hang a scarlet letter on 23 yo old kid who has made some mistakes while partying.

We've all done that.

Hopefully he has learned and grown up.

Yup.

These losses dont bother me like they use to. Save the heart ache for the playoffs. As long as we make the playoffs we good. All it takes is a team to get hot at the right time.

The Ravens are peaking now.

The Pats peaked earlier.

Hopefully the Chiefs peak in the playoffs. It's coming. This team has shown flashes of brilliance in every phase.

They just havent put it all together in a single game yet. That's what's most frustrating.

Do you think he gets cut for lying if there was no overblown media / social "outrage" over what he did? I don't.
