2019 Free agency Thread

We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.

If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.

I also don't want to draft a tight end like some do. Lots of vets who won't be that expensive. Some terrific pure blockers like guys on the ravens, stocker, o'shaughnessy. Or get a good blocker who can adequately catch like Jesse James, swaim, or Tyler kroft. Kroft intrigues me because maybe we can get him for cheap coming off injury.

Would a trade of Antonio Brown for Watkins and a pick work out money wise? Not that the Chiefs do this but just wondering. Cap gurus have at it.

Gotta find the SAM or MIKE backer somewhere this iffseason. Hutchins is probably a better SAM, but I think he is capable of playing MIKE. DOD is easily best suited for the WILL backer position.

Not sure who or where but this is the biggest need on the defense IMO. We only have 2 LB’s capable of starting a game today.

Hell, he couldn't play in a 3-4 either.

I like Anthony Barr as a FA. Dude can line up at all spots.

LB's to consider in the draft:

Devin Bush
Mack Wilson
D'Andre Walker
Tre Lamar

The only way I see Veach signing a FA LB is if Houston is released and I believe he will be restructured.

I'm all for drafting a LB though.

Hitchens was a Will in college. He initially played Will in Dallas before injuries in front of him forced a move to Mike.

Hitchens is not a Sam backer. If you draft someone like Devin Bush, he's competing with DOD for a starting spot. You'll end up with draft capital sitting on the bench.

I really want Honey Badger. The guy played with Merritt a few years ago so we might have his attention.

He will turn 27 this year and has played 32 straight games.

Maybe he comes on a deal like he did in Houston.

Smaller DBs is Spags thing to, plus he likes to blitz from secondary so wouldn’t be bad fit

Another player I would love to have is CJ Uzomah. That guy is a very underrated TE. Unfortunately I think he’s going to get a big payday from someone.

Guys,

I don't want you to be mad at me, but for the 1,000,000th time. We have no realistic shot at Earl Thomas.

We not only have a shot but already would have had him last year if it weren't for the compensation they wanted.

Hell, we could have Thomas, Berry, and Ford this year.

I hate to say it but it looks like Houston will be gone just because of the $$$...
