My 6th great grandfather was Lewis Morris. He signed the Declaration of Independence. A direct descendant Dad to Dad to Dad etc.

He was one of the richest men in America at the time. He owned most of what is now the Bronx at the time of the Revolution. When he signed the Declaration of Independence the British took everything from him.

After the war they offered to return his lands to him but he refused.

One of his sons went to the Tennessee frontier to preach the Gospel and start a farm and church, His son moved to Fordland Missouri. He started the first farm in the area and started a church to preach the gospel. So that's how I ended up in Missouri.

Freedom and Democracy is our inheritance. Lets keep it. Happy 4th of July!
