Conspiracy, the Paranormal, the Unexplained and the Esoteric

Figure this would have a better chance of surviving in the Media Center than on the main page, and I'll be adding youtube and podcast links from time to time as I come across them, so it fits.

This has been something that's interested me from a very young age, all aspects of mysterious stuff, whether we're talking forgotten or forbidden archeology or civilization (Atlantis, pre-colombian exploration of america, etc), unexplained events (like Tunguska in 1908, the lost Roanoke Island colony, etc), paranormal events like ghosts, the study of ESP and that sort of thing, conspiracy (ranging from JFK to stuff like the perpetration of the drug war and the infilitration of the media by US intelligence) and, of course, UFOs (which to me means "unexplained" not "extraterrestrial" but that's a whole other topic).

Anything could show up, and everybody should feel free to add whatever they like. Just try to keep it as civil and respectful as possible. This is not intended to be a DC thread; it's as much for entertainment purposes as it is to solve all the world's mysteries.

**Although if anybody posts anything from Third Phase of Moon they should probably expect me to kick them in the balls.**

Few things I like to watch or listen to in no particular order (most of this can be found on itunes as well...):

The Paracast
Binall of America
The Gralian Report
The Paranormal Report
Dark City
Radio Misterioso
Open Minds (mostly their podcast)

That's it for now, just wanted to get this started. Been thinking about doing it for a while...

Legit, IMO.

Listened to a bit of the Rogan podcast with him last night, was really interesting. Gonna try to finish it up this week.
Watched it over the weekend, it's super good.

Really wish Rogan would get George Knapp on...I love me some Knapp, dude has an immense wealth of knowledge and great way of articulating the info.

I'm actually shocked that Lazar agreed to do the documentary; and shocked even further that he did Rogan's podcast .

Spoiler!

Man, I just don't know how the hell the government could keep all that stuff under wraps for this long.

Extreme compartmentalization, discrediting and covering up possible whistle blowers, threats, etc.

I think about it this way...how many people know stuff and just don't talk about it? Think about it, no one is going to believe them and their career and life would be surely ruined...I mean look at Lazar, he's the perfect case study.

That's true. Just seems so crazy that they could keep it that quiet for this long, but then you see how supposed people in the "know" are treated and it makes sense.

I also think there's quite a few reasons for the issues being kept quiet the way they are.

yeah, I think Jerm stated what I was pretty much going to say.

For the most part, they have made it where even mentioning seeing a UFO automatically makes you a kook. So a lot of people don't even bother talking about it. Now, who is 'they"?...not sure. the stigma is there that if you see a UFO...you're a kook and nothing should be believed...so people usually don't believe it. Between that and massive disinformation of the last 50 years +, the government can pretty much engage in whatever projects they want to. yeah, they don't want people talking about it, but if they do....they'll just discredit and mock and continue doing what they're doing.

Lazar is a great example of having your life potentially ruined by talking about it.

it's all very fascinating to me.

Now that they're starting to get AF pilots and such coming out saying "Hey, we're seeing these things and don't know what the **** they are" shit seems to be changing.

Knapp is so awesome, without him no one would’ve ever known about the Skinwalker Ranch... he is completely unafraid to put his considerable reputation on the line to break stories like that

I didn't realize that was hitting netflix. Just watched it. Pretty out there production-wise, but a good doc. Not really anything new, though. They've been talking about the FBI raids on radio shows for at least a year. The only thing I didn't remember hearing before was his hypnotic regression.

Have they though? It’s not an issue of lack of information. We have so many stories and so much information because things have leaked. It’s really just a matter of what someone will believe or not believe.

Outside of a living alien making a public appearance there isn’t really anything that would satisfy everyone which is why it’s usually pointless to get into debates with skeptics demanding evidence. It’s all out there to be either believed or not believed while the government gets to maintain plausible deniability under the guise of security clearances or off the books projects.

interesting. Bob was sentenced to 3 years probation for felony pandering. Judge confirmed some of his credentials though. I still dont know what to make of Bob Lazar. His buddy, John Lear, tells some wild stories.

The government doesn't really know anything or keep anything under wraps. This stuff has been in the private sector for decades.
