Experiences with Deworming your cat?

I know I'll get some fingers in their asshole type comments BUT, I'm generally curious if I can skip the vet bill and get some medication from a pet store to do the trick??

The vets are gonna give me some over priced deworming shit and charge me an additional X amount of $ for the "exam". Generally curious since I see deworming products online at all my local pet stores... Thanks.

I'm reading though that my cat could have a "certain" type of worm as there are various worms, and the medications only seem to treat only particular worms?

Most likely roundworms of some type, which are all treatable by the same stuff for the most part. If you are unsure, then take a cat turd to the vet and ask them. They can tell you what types of worms. Then if you don't wanna buy their overpriced meds, you can buy exactly what you need online.

Yeah I just called them. They are going to get an ear full from my wife because she thinks she got them from the vet since only a week ago, our cat got fixed at their establishment. Conversation as follows...

Call Vet

Me: "Hi my wife wanted me to verify with you guys, our cat is indoor, and since she most recently had a surgery performed with you guys last week, is there a possibility she contracted the worms through this date of service"?

Vet: "Let me check, *hold* Your cat has fleas so that is probably where she contracted it from."

Me: "Well actually, when we went there last week, your vet assured me my cat didn't have fleas".

Vet: "Well she must have just gotten them"

Me: "In the past week?"

Vet: "Yes.."

Me: "Ok, does Dronal work?"

Vet: "yes that's our preferred brand"

Me: "Thanks, have a nice day".

I don't mind because I text my wife that conversation and she says "Mother ****ERS, Imma call them." Which I knew was going to happen as I ended the call lmao.

LOL. This is how it works at our house as well. I will call and present as calm and rational. If that works, great! If not, I politely end the call and report the outcome to the "hell hath no fury" member of the partnership!

Support your local vet. They have college loans and a mortgage on the business building to payoff. Not all vets spend that $ on hookers and blow.
