If this is what this incident was actually based on, holy shit. If this ends up a staged woke show, that selfie pic he took with all the crew members and teams behind him and all the other actions this weekend just make me want to puke. I agree. If that's the rope in question everyone who worked in that garage would know it. And I would hope they'd speak up right away just to prevent this whole thing going any further. That's why I really doubt it is the rope in question.

My problem with this being staged is it wouldn't actually benefit Bubba. He's already been a fairly popular driver for the last few years despite his relative lack of success(which is more to do with the equipment that he is in than it does with his talent; put him in the #9 NAPA Camaro at Hendrick and he would probably be doing just as well as it's current occupant Chase Elliott, or the #12 Mustang at Penske with Ryan Blaney). He is a young up and comer, that unfortunately isn't in a top team like Hendrick/Penske/Gibbs. That's his biggest handicap.

And just the last few weeks he has garnered major attention from not only in the sport, but outside of the sport as well. Alvin Kamara and LeBron James had already become fans of him before this past weekend, he was already a leader among NASCAR drivers on social media trends prior to this weekend, non NASCAR (and even non sports) media was already talking about him constantly prior to this weekend. So what does Bubba, or his team, or Richard Petty Motorsports, stand to gain from faking this incident? Doesn't seem smart on their part, let alone NASCAR's.

Not just asking people here, but as a general question.

but he doesn't need this to keep his job. That's the point. He was not in danger of losing his ride prior to any of the events over the past few weeks, let alone the noose allegedly being found in his stall at Dega.

IIt's not like petty has great equipment or has been a major player as an owner. His team(s) consistently finish 15-25th. So it's not like hes picking the best at the top level. Beyond that, owners pick their drivers with at the very least considering their marketability because they have to get sponsors to back their drivers or they dont have a team to field.

So while I dont have anything negative to say about bubba, pretending that he must be an awesome driver because his owner has the most wins in nascar history is flawed.
