Ed Harris takes Top villain role in HBOs "Westworld" reboot

Sweet. Loved this film when I was a kid. It's ripe for a reboot.

Doesn't sound like he's playing the Yul Brenner role though

Ed Harris is coming to series TV: The Abyss and Apollo 13 actor has signed on as the Big Bad in HBO’s Westworld reboot.
The four-time Oscar nominee’s character is called The Man in Black, and is described as “the distillation of pure villainy into one man.” He joins previously cast star — and fellow series television newcomer—Anthony Hopkins, along with Evan Rachel Wood, Jeffrey Wright, and Shannon Woodward.

The Warner Bros.-produced sci-fi pilot produced by J.J Abrams, Jerry Weintraub, and Bryan Burk updates Michael Crichton’s 1973 classic film about a theme park where androids fulfill dark human desires. Harris’ description might sound like he’s playing the Yul Brynner killer-cowboy robot role, but it seems like actor Rodrigo Santoro was tapped for that part—and online production rumors suggest The Man in Black is actually a human character who sadistically abuses the androids.

Harris will soon be seen the feature film Run All Night, starring opposite Liam Neeson and Joel Kinnaman. Harris won a Golden Globe and was nominated for an Emmy for his work in HBO’s Game Change.

No, I never did. With all the ****ing streaming shows these days it fell through the cracks. I'm laid up on a Saturday night, maybe I'll binge a little.

Streaming is getting overwhelming at this point. I already have Netflix and Disney+ and Prime and CBS and almost just signed up for a free month of hulu. It's eventually going to cost (a lot...) more than the insane cable packages that caused all this cord-cutting to begin with.

I actually haven't had cable since November and haven't missed it at all.

I'm waiting for Homeland to be done, and now maybe Westworld's third season, and then I'm cutting cable back to just the basic and local stuff. It should be a crime how much Spectrum charges these days.

You've got about an hour and a half. You'd be better off just enjoying the episodes as you watch them. Eventually you hit the current episode and it's going to kill you to have to wait for the next one.

That new season trailer is tits though. That setting is my vibe. But I'm still on season 1 and just now understanding what's going on.

It's a fun ride. Some really nice 'holy shit' moments along the way.

Whelp. That opened up enough new storylines to keep me interested.

Agreed! Thought the season 3 premiere was top notch and it looks like they really raised the budget for this show (very futuristic looking down to a t)

Also, did anyone else notice that was Marshawn Lynch (aka Beast Mode) in a small role next to Aaron Paul?
