Chiefs core players.
Each Super Bowl Winning dynasty team has a core of 4-6 players that help make the nucleus of the team and propel them on to future Super Bowl wins. For example the 70s Steelers had:
Bradshaw (4) Franco (4) Swann(4) Hamm (4) Greene (4) Lambert (4) the 80s 49ers had: Montana (4) Craig (3) Rice (3) Haley (3) Lott (3) The 90s Cowboys had: Irvin (3) Aikman (3) Smith (3) Haley (3) The 00s Patriots had: Brady (3) Brown (2) Smith (2) Vrabel (3) Law (2) The 10s Patriots had: Brady (3) Gronkowski (2) Edelman (3) Hightower (3) McCourty (3) (Super Bowl wins) The 20s Chiefs I think will need to keep around Mahomes Hill Kelce Clark Mathieu Anyone pick anyone different as a must have for future super bowl victories? I keep seeing all these bullshit excuses of why he can't be re signed, but...Jones is a must sign.

Jones is a wrecking ball in the middle of this defense. I hope they find a way to keep him.

I think they Chiefs have more flexibility when it comes to cap than most realize. I think it was Matt Verdermane (yikes, I think butchered his name) that said they can save enough money to sign both Mahomes and Jones and still have approximately 13M in cap space by cutting Wilson, Watkins and Erving.

Cutting Wilson is Asinine. Youre going to pay just as much, if not more, to replace him. Watkins is likely getting restructured, as he said if I was to pay Pat, he would strongly consider it. The guy was huge in the SB run and if he can be kept, albeit at a much lower number, that needs to happen. Erving is a cheerleader and can hit the bricks, and Jones is gonna want **** you money. He likely has to get it from another team. The Clark deal essentially torpedoed our chances of keeping Chris Jones and not debilitating ourselves. I'm seeing him as a tag n trade if Mahomes is paid this offseason. |

Obviously we need to keep Mahomes, but the nature of his Extension will likely be a key factor in future success.

I'd add Nnadi. He's the anchor of our run defense. And literally the only 3-down DT we have on the roster.
