FedEx asks Redskins to change name

Here we go. I think part of the reason we’ve been safe from this kind of stuff is because the Redskins have always been a bigger target. Now that there’s pressure from sponsors Snyder is going to feel the heat like never before.

If they go down, make no mistake, the mob will come for us next.

I’m glad they took Commanders, it leaves Red Wolves as a possibility if the Chiefs ever change theirs.

Surely the NFL will want a Commanders and Chiefs Super Bowl.

lol Washington Football Team is a better name than Commanders

it sounds like the fake team names in movies where they can't license actual team names. or an arena football name. or a fake arena football name.

The Washington Bazooka Sharks would have been better lol GO ZOOKS

they should lean into it

make the mascot like a cartoon Stalin

at half time they can have a Frida Kahlo mascot in the home jersey come out at half time and stab a Trotsky mascot wearing a away jersey in the back with a cartoonishly oversized ice pick

To be honest, I think we will all get used to it, it just takes time.

Remember when they didn’t have an actual name and it was a big Meme, and now 2 years later we all kinda just adopted it and now it sounds ok? The same will happen with the commanders.

It’s just like if they picked the Jets, Oh wow, it’s the JETS! Like what airplanes? No we are so used to it because it’s been around for decades. Or the Ravens? A bird? Would it be weird if they called themselves the Baltimore Pigeons? Baltimore ducks? We know Seahawks and eagles are taken, point being is it’s just something new that we will all laugh at first but adopt in the near future.

That’s just my opinion but I’ll also add a local news station was saying pretty much the same as above, WFT sounded better, but in retrospect that may just be because we’ve grown accustomed to the name

Good point.

Packers is a name that would be mocked if announced today. Eagles is generic as hell. Same deal with Panthers. Titans does sound like a XFL name.

Admirals is better. Why lower the rank to Commander?

At least it's not Washington Staff Sergeants.

that's probably true

it's kind of the same thing with band names. your favorite band probably has a stupid name but you like them anyway and never think about it. like Tool is a really popular band but the name is just so dumb lol like they were watching Home Improvement and were like "let's name our band Tool *Tim Allen Grunt*"
