Also Big Ben is a good call but he's unique with the weight he carries. The fact is skinny 6'5 qbs have NEVER been great in this league..so we'll see if he can buck that trend.
The Ohio State game actually speaks highly of Lawrence though, it was a game against elite competition where things didn't go right. He sucked it up and brought his team back for a win.

Ken Dorsey on the early 2000’s Miami teams is the example of what you are describing above.

Lawrence makes NFL-caliber throws/reads.

Fields should have won that game in the end but lost his nerve...the force fumble reverse was also a massive moment. Lawrence didn't deserve to be in the final imo.

Josh Fields is the one who is going to have a harder time transitioning to NFL play.

Others, that aren't all-time great, but have won SBs or have had nice long careers are Carson Palmer, Rivers, Newton, Flacco and I'm sure there are a few others.

Until more Kyler Murray types don’t pan out like Kyler Murray, the league will continue to believe that guys who play a vaguely similar style will pan out that way.

Bortles is just good enough to get them a couple of wins and move them out of the top 5 of the draft.
