Mahomes: 24/32, 211 yards, 3 TDs, 0 Int, 80.7 QBR, 123.3 RTG Watson: 20/32, 253 yards, 1 TD, 1 Int, 38.7 QBR, 84.5 RTG Try to figure that one out. Mahomes’s numbers should’ve been even better too. Robinson dropped a deep TD pass on a perfect throw. |

Got in a debate with a few coworkers today. I may be a little biased being a Chiefs fan though. The Browns, Jets and Bears have not had a decent QB for the last 20 years. That is a mathematical impossibility that every QB these organizations draft or sign just sucks. The reason has to be something to do with the teams. We all agreed on that point.
The question was what if Mahomes had gone to one of these teams what would his career look like? He couldn't possibly have gone to a better situation with the weapons and coaching staff. My take was he'd still be a top 10 QB. Wouldn't be winning SB's or MVP's or signing 500M contracts but would still be damn good, probably getting those crappy teams to the playoffs. Thoughts? |

Mahomes would be a very good QB virtually anywhere (just a tremendous arm talent with a great IQ for the game) but he would not have put up the numbers he did for the Chiefs in his first three years on those teams. I’d anticipate quite a few more turnovers.

I think Matt Stafford in Detroit might be a good comparison point for Mahomes if he ended up with teams like the Jets, Browns, Lions, etc.

Mahomes would have been successful anywhere he went. ANYWHERE.
