Ted Lasso is a good show

It's on Apple TV so that is kind of a pain in the ass. I always give a watch to the guys who grew up around here (Sudekis, Rudd, Cheadle etc)

A feel good show that is better than I thought, albeit a little corny.

Story: Likable and optimistic D2 football coach gets hired to coach Premier soccer team in England.

It's a little thin and formulaic on the plotting, but they sell it with warmth and charm.

I mean, no one is really invested on how good a coach Lasso is, or how good the team is, or his relationship with his wife and kids, . . . but they sell it in the scene and you enjoy the performance in the moment.

I love it ... seems to get better every week ... of course it’s corny and over the top ... but I’m a fan

I’m only able to watch it because the wife got a four month free trial with her new phone a few months ago. Not thinking it’ll last through this season. But yes, it is a good show.

- Enjoy the game
- **** off!!
- Oy, it IS you!!

Feelgood episode, if a little overstuffed. Homage/collage of about every RomCom trope, buzzing in a mile a minute. I'm sure social media will be wagging about this one.

Oh, and . . .

- Coach. . .
- Doc! . . . Ceiling!! . . . Chair!! . . . Trashcan!!

The last two episodes have been pretty lame. Hope they aren't losing the mojo.

I tried really hard to get into it based on all the hype and several people telling me how great it is...made it through 8 episodes of the first season and just couldn't keep myself interested.

amazingly lame imo. some of the jokes i dont know how they made it out of the writers room. even the jokes they use in trailers are bad, they couldnt find anything good to promote the show?

and they need feelsy stuff to make people watch a sport comedy? just a royal mess of a genre.

Last episode stuck the landing but the first 10 minutes had me going "hmm, this isn't very funny right now". It's also apparent this show is running out of stuff for Ted, and really has me questioning what is he even useful for.
