In the 60's the WWII TV Show Combat was one of my favorites, I even have picture of Vic Morrow and Rick Jason on my wall from the show, and I think it contributed to me joining the Army in '70.

In 1982 Vic Morrow along with 2 child actors were killed while making the movie The Twilight Zone when a helicopter crashed on top of them when special effects knocked the helicopter out of the sky. The film was eventually released minus some scenes, here is the scenes where Vic and the children are killed.



The director John Landis and the special effects people were charged with manslaughter. They were found innocent after a 9 month trial. The children's parents received millions in settlements. Here's a link to the whole story.
