Let's talk about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Super Bowl Edition)

Second straight Super Bowl win incoming.

Time to send old man Brady out to pasture.

I really think that last years game....we got to see some nervousness in Mahomes. Just like that first AFC Championship game. He came out amped up and was off for a little while. There won’t be any of that for this game. He’s been here before and he’s dialed in. He isn’t going to be denied....and he doesn’t have a shit defense to have to make up for.

This isn’t prime Brady and Belichick isn’t showing up before the game to coach that defense.
Bill's defense struggle against Mahomes as well, except for the first half in the 2018 AFCCG... and as you are saying, Boles is far from Bill...

We wisely didn’t really change our offense in the second half and still had plays to make. So they really don’t know what to expect from us should they start with the no blitz defense. But we will certainly carve it up no problem.

But what makes me the most certain we blow them out is that they, like the Bills, have won with unsustainable circumstances in the postseason. They have gotten fortunate turnovers and short fields making up the bulk of their scoring. That won’t keep happening enough for them to keep it close.
Correct. Tyreek was beating them whether it was zone or man. They don't have any special answers coming.

Arians and Bowles are coaches that run what they run.

Yeah, I actually noticed that a bit more when rewatching the SB the other day than I did watching live. And now he's played Brady a few times including the playoffs, plus already having played the Bucs this season.

It'll still be a challenging not to come out a bit too amped, but even if that does happen, there's no reason to think he settle in pretty quickly... if it's an issue at all.

Does he, though? Does he REALLY think that?

If Chris Simms can see that the Chiefs went super vanilla after they went up 17-0 on offense AND defense, other players can, too. IF they're watching it.

I agree that the Chiefs kept their cards close to their vest in the second half.

If the Bucs come out trying to do the soft zone and drop 7-8 thing like they did in the second half against KC, the Chiefs are going to dice them up with the short passing game, just like they did against the Bills.

Mahomes has cleaned up the deep drop issues he started having, too. Only did it 1x against the Bills, and on that play, it was on purpose... they had Robinson chip Jerry Hughes and Darrel Williams chop Epenesa.

I expect tons of 2-man coverage from Tampa. Press corners, two deep safeties, 4 man rush.

Leaves them susceptible to Mahomes running but with his toe, may not be as advantageous of an opportunity.

Also, this is where KC would need to use their plans for past Patriots games to cause traffic and free up receivers from tight coverage quickly. Stack formations, crossing pattern concepts.

It is still crazy to me that this team is that talented and the coaches are that good that we basically coasted to a 14-2 record. How many games did we just go vanilla in the second half because we knew that we were going to win?

Mahomes has had 2 more weeks of rest, so I wouldn’t be shocked if the toe isn’t an issue at all in the game.

It’s been said before but the Packers were the best matchup for the Bucs. Stop the run with that defensive line and focus your attention on Adams. The Packers don’t have a ton else.

We don’t need to run the ball that bad and we have too many weapons for you to double just one of them. You’re ****ed, Tampa Bay.

Mecole and Clyde are the guys to look for IMO. They’re gonna be focused on taking Kelce and Tyreek away while putting their 2nd best corner on Sammy. That leaves a big mismatch for Mecole.

Clyde is a wild card but White and David are excellent athletes. He can still ball but it’s not as big of a mismatch.

I think Mecole could have some huge plays Sunday

The refs are going to need to step in by the middle of the second quarter to keep people from switching the station.

Maybe sooner.

I can see the refs calling us for offensive and defensive holding a lot in the first quarter in an attempt to keep is somewhat close.

Listening to our corporate "commercial" and both Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith are picking Tom Brady. Not the Bucs. Tom Brady.
