Andy Reid is a terrible head football coach

Andy Reid got depantsed in the Super Bowl by Bruce Arians.

Bruce ****ing Arians and Tom ****ing Brady.

Well, you see, Andy Reid is an offensive genius, and how dare we question Andy Reid's genius in not running the ball and not utilizing the screen pass in the face of an epically brutal pass rush, a patchwork offensive line and a QB with a hurt toe?

How dare we question his geniusness?

Marty got more out his teams in KC than Andy has in his time here. That's pretty sad.

How often does it have to happen and impact games before he gives up calling timeouts.

Let one of the coordinators decide.

It's the same issues over and over again. He's never "learned." Will Mahomes force him to learn? Can he overcome Reid's failure to learn?

Increasingly, I think Mahomes WILL make at least one Super Bowl (and maybe more), but that he'll do it with a different head coach.

Knowing their D is shit (and that they weren't planning to play Berry)
Knowing a punt would give them excellent field position

It'd be one thing if Reid did this once or twice. But this exact type of drive has popped up over and over and over again in his decades of coaching. That was horrendous playcalling on a 3-down series. Sorry not sorry.
You really have a big problem running on first down causing SD to burn a timeout? Sorry, if Reid calls a pass play and the pass falls incomplete people are killing him for not running the clock.

Blame him for timeout usage/non-usage at the very end, but that last drive failed because of penalties and lack of execution.

Just can the fat fool. Those who say he’s good for Mahomes should be aware of the fact that great qb’s will flourish under any semi reasonable coaching system look at manning Big Ben rivers etc

With this defense I am not sure if timeouts even matter. NE, LAR and LAC all had their timeouts intact as they predictably marched down the field as the defense gives up too many chunk plays or can't defend the sidelines to burn enough clock to force timeouts to be used. I have never seen anything like it before in crunch time.
Unless Reid completely revamps his conservative style we are more likely to lose meaningful games than win them.

You put the ball in your best player's hands. If he fails (pass is incomplete), there is no regret.

But I agree people often blame the playcalling for the sole reason that the play didn't work, regardless of what was called.

Lets be real. This defense is so bad you cannot think conventionally. When people are suggesting what they are it is not because they lack common sense. What they recognize is 1.) we have an offensive line that cannot move people when the other team is expecting run 2.) has a stud QB that has carried them in moments like this (hand it over to Mahomes) 3.) recognizes that field position and picking up 1st downs was more important than time at that point given the Bolts had 3 timeouts and the 2 minute warning and 4.) our chances of getting a 1st down on 3 consecutive pass plays was far greater than 2. You can think beyond "conventional" wisdom when you know that many of the factors that "conventional" wisdom relies on is not there.

In other words situational football and Reid haven't been getting along for a long time.

With 3:49 left, an incomplete isn't going to kill you. We ran the clock on three straight plays and still gave the chargers more than 2 minutes with 1 TO left, in perfect field position. To go against a Defense we knew would play without berry.

Sorry... We didn't have to dial up a 50 yard pass. But two insanely predictable and conservative plays is maddeningly vintage Reid. A conservative playaction. A single first down is a hell of a lot better than a 3 and out.

It's one thing if this was the first time. Every damn eagles fan will tell you he's done this for 20 years with the same maddening results.

It was in his hands on 2nd and 3rd down.
