Still playing 5. Never did buy 6 because the graphics never appealed to me and then some of the systems they switched up were just a miss, imo. Hopefully 7 is a banger.

I expect 7 to follow a similar path. I am afraid they are going to try and monetize it by leaving out, then selling you back features. That is what games have become |

I played Civ 1 so much I never got into another one nearly as much. Rip Microprose and the good old days of gaming.

Played six a lot.
Forcing myself to win a way other than beating the shit out of everyone else or winning the space race is a good challenge. Winning a religious victory was anathema to me but a nice achievement to unlock. |

They would start shunning me and calling me a warmonger if I fought back against someone who attacked first. For the rest of the game it seemed like. Probably my main gripe, otherwise I really enjoyed it. |

Problem with 6 is most of the time the cpu didn't make enough units to withstand any kind of decent assault. Been thus way since the 1 unit per tile

Yeah, the war mongering penalties are a little too high. I watched the launch trailer yesterday and really was intrigued by the idea of playing as a civilization that adapts with each age. Also sounds like they’re cutting it to 3 ages. |
