Wow. Kinda surprised they didn’t just bump it again until next summer?

I guess they need a big event for HBOMax??

Looks like it will be opening in the local theaters in my area around here. Theaters in Texas have been back open for months.

But if I’m being honest, why would I go pay to see it in a movie theater when it will just pop up for free on HBOMax?

Because they'd need to spend at least $50 million more on worldwide marketing.

As mentioned in a related thread, HBO Max has only 8 million activations out of 36 million HBO subscribers. If they want to compete with Disney+, Netflix and Amazon, they're going to need high quality content in order to woo viewers.

This might be too little, too late but it'll be interesting to see how many new activations there are in the months December & January.

Well, it's not exactly "Free". You have to be an HBO Max subscriber and a standalone sub is $14.99 a month, which is a few dollars less than a single movie ticket in LA or NY.

It will be curious to see how many people sign up just to watch this movie. As I mentioned yesterday, this most likely means that a deal with Roku is coming soon because otherwise, more than 45% of their subscriber base will be unable to watch it.

Man. I had high hopes for a Gal Gadot Wonder Woman franchise but I have to say I am not liking the comparison to...Trolls World Tour? Holy ****. Yikes.

Seeing several tweets this morning that are positive. Review embargo has dropped....sounds like a good sign

@JimVejvoda: I saw #WonderWoman1984 yesterday. It was a lot of fun and has a very heartwarming and hopeful message that, frankly, we really need this year. https://twitter.com/JimVejvoda/statu...610243/photo/1

@BrandonDavisBD: I've seen #WonderWoman1984!

@PattyJenks literally made an 80s movie in every way, making it so unique for today. It feels both bigger than the first WW while simultaneously more contained.

Lots of Diana Prince and some epic Wonder Woman moments as @GalGadot literally soars! https://twitter.com/BrandonDavisBD/s...295362/photo/1

@ErikDavis: I’m so happy to report that #WW84 is an absolute blast from start to finish. An exceptional compliment to the first film, it’s stuffed w/ heart, hope, love, action, romance & humor. @PattyJenks, @GalGadot & team delivered one of DC's best sequels. I was in tears when it ended. https://twitter.com/ErikDavis/status...799107/photo/1

@GermainLussier: Yesterday I saw Wonder Woman 1984 at home & it was everything I needed & more. The movie is hugely ambitious, incredibly exciting, and full of much needed hope. It's also very long, to a fault at times, but mostly it reminded me how wonderful a big blockbuster can make you feel. https://twitter.com/GermainLussier/s...986560/photo/1
