Perry Fewell Sr. VP of Officiating Administration "This was a properly called foul"

This is in an article from The Athletic.

Perry Fewell sent out a video to all 32 teams. In that video he says this,

“He lands with his full body weight on the drive to the ground. A quarterback in the pocket, in a passing posture, gets full protection until he can defend himself. This was a properly called foul for roughing the passer.”

The NFL just can't admit there was a mistake made on the call and instead is going to double down on this reeruned shit. If the NFL ever falls it'll be because of this dumb shit.

So in the eyes of the nfl…
Chris jones is the scumbag who roughed the passer

But Davante adams is a victim who had a cameraman run into his shove

Make it make sense

Stop letting refs hide behind a planted reporter. Force them to defend themselves with hard questions the same way coaches and players do. If cheffers wants to defend this piece of shit call then go in front of critics and explain it.

If you’re not going to allow that then let players and coaches speak their mind about shit calls.

Defenders should just start picking the QB up and running backwards to get a stop as forward progress. Can't rough the passer if you don't tackle him.

This was expected. They aren't going to back off on 'protecting the passer,' ever. It's actually going to get worse. It's a "QB driven league," as the talking heads like to say now, and teams (owners) have a lot invested in them, and they're going to have even more invested in them down the road.

And they have literally written pages concerning the restrictions for tackling QBs, that are completely different than the rules for tackling any other player on the field. They aren't going to just erase that shit. it's in the book now; it ain't coming out. it will in fact be modified even more. There will be more restrictions, followed by more, until . . .

I'm telling you guys that it's not that far down the road before QBs will not be subject to tackles at all. it'll be "get your arms around the QB, and the ref blows the whistle."

Defenders will not be allowed to take QBs to the ground at all.
