Mondesi. So frustrating. Worst type of player to have as an executive, I would think.

He's so tantalizingly physically talented. It makes it nearly impossible to feel like you can move him in trade, because he has the physical ability to be Jose Ramirez... a true MVP candidate power/speed combo, but one who also plays shortstop at a high level.

I think this is it. They finally got him to buy into their plan for him in the offseason, and he responds by having a horribly slow start and then unluckily tearing his ACL.

I'll compare it to Gianna Michaels' career. You watch the whole career thinking about the potential they have, if they only would take the next step...

And then when they finally do it for once, it doesn't work out like you hoped it would (and then they sail off into the sunset).

Might be a blessing in disguise. Lets the Royals play Isabel and Olivares every day now, see what they got there. They can also put Nick Loftin back in the infield.
