I know a few have done the Tmobile home internet and are loving it. One, is a family with 3 kids. Dont know how much they stream considering she works for a local tv station.
Daughter tried tmobile in philly and had to give it back. If you have good verizon service where you are, it may be worth it depending on how many devices you have. How much is your internet vs what you are paying with Verizon? |

Is the data unlimited or do they slow you down after going over some preset limit?

Thanks. Like you I'm in the country. In the past I've used satellite but that too was limited and not fast enough for decent streaming.
I've been waiting for Verizon to offer this 5G internet in my area but it will probably be some time before it comes to fruition. |

Been messing around with it a little today. A couple streams. Downloading random stuff. Haven't tried uploading yet. But I don't do a ton of that either. So far it appears to be seamless; at least as good as Cox.
Btw, does this mean I don't need a router anymore? The only thing plugged into the Verizon Gateway box is the power cord. |

My Verizon phone is great for internet.
I have the unspeakable evil of Xfinity/Comcast for my home internet, solely because I can't get another service that offers a decent speed. I find it really weird since I live in the middle of a big city, but I've tried, lord knows I've tried, because Xfinity/Comcast is on the moral plane of Somali warlords. Verizon says that home internet isn't available yet in my area despite the fact that my phone works in my house. I find this perplexing unless it's purely a capacity issue. I kind of like having two different providers so I can find out what's happening if one of them goes down (always Xfinity/Comcast when it happens), so I'd rather not have Verizon for both home and phone. But I'd do it if I could get rid of Xfinity/Comcast and forget that they ever scuttled across the earth. |

Lol, like none. Here's the thing: I'm not very computer savvy at all. Part of the reason I didn't set the thing up earlier is that usually any new device I have to set up takes me about an hour if things go well, 2+hrs if something goes wrong, and that happens about half the time. So needed a 2 hour block to set the thing up, or so I thought. The actual set up for this thing was about 15 minutes. And I literally just had to plug it in. I'm still waiting for something to go wrong (no way it's that easy). So one day back about 15 years ago I downloaded some porn and I guess I caught a virus or something, but the computer went kablooey (technical term) and I lost everything on that computer. Since then, I banned myself from d/ling porn. Just rereading this, it sounds like I'm lying, lol. Truth is, I'm terrified of getting another virus. Digital STDs!!! |

Something about being caught between a chair that bites you or a chair of dicks. May go to Tmoblie someday. Remember to rename the ssid and password the same as before-so all of your devices connect easier. |

Also, at this point assuming I'll switch to this thing and ditch Cox, how do you change the password? Never going to remember that gobbledegook they used out of the box.
Never mind. Just googled it; eyes starting crossing when they got to "type ip address numbers blahblahblah" I'm out on that. Last edited by Megatron96; Yesterday at 05:28 PM.. |
