Rashee Rice [arrested and now out on bail]

The other thread is a dumpster fire. I'm sure this will become one as well, but might as well start with a clean slate. I'll at least try to keep the OP updated with any notable news. Feel free to PM me if I miss anything good.

Arrest warrant and potential charges:
Spoiler!

Analysis from a defense attorney:
Spoiler!

Turned himself in and now out on bail:
Spoiler!

Random minutiae:

What you can charge and what you can prove 100% in court are two totally different things. When it gets to court and a trial, you're relying on a LOT of things to fall into place perfectly. Everyone giving good testimony, evidence being accepted, no surprise motions, etc. Plea deals are done all the time because of this. Also, to be frank, it's just easier. Courts don't want to dick with a 3 day trial and the time, resources, etc. needed to pull it off all for a accident where no one was seriously injured. As far as the Court is concerned, the juice isn't worth the squeeze.

That's why this will end in a plea deal with lesser charges (all the most serious dropped) and likely probation and of course, an NFL suspension (2-4 games?)

Just go ahead and mark it down now.

I don’t disagree with the plea argument…probably exactly where it’s headed.

It’s also exactly why the charges are what they are and will be what they are until it’s plead down…have to give the appearance of being harsh and tough.
