FedEx asks Redskins to change name


Here we go. I think part of the reason we’ve been safe from this kind of stuff is because the Redskins have always been a bigger target. Now that there’s pressure from sponsors Snyder is going to feel the heat like never before.

If they go down, make no mistake, the mob will come for us next.

Doesn't Fedex sponsor some "Ground player" award? Groundhogs will placate their corporate sponsor and their elderly fan base that actually thinks that John Riggins was a good running back.

Hard to believe Riggins was a track star in high school, I think he won the Kansas state title in the 100 yard dash, ran it in 9.8 seconds. He was good with the Jets too, not just Washington. But he definitely wasn’t in the class of an Earl Campbell or Walter Payton. I think the best RB Washington had in the super bowl era was Larry Brown, but that’s just my opinion, not too many people agree with me on that. I’m not sure if FedEx will be a sponsor still when they move to a new stadium, so I’m don’t think the team name will be chosen with any regard for FedEx. Washington Post had a article a couple weeks ago that Washington team representatives were in discussions with Northern Virginia representatives, about building a dome stadium.
