How screwed am I?
My daughter was on the web last night and suddenly WinPatrol popped up with a warning and Windows popped up that spyware was on the puter. It appears that a new system32 file was installed and it will not allow me to run spybot or download other antispyware tools. It also will not allow me to run a system restore previous to the time we were infected. Any thoughts, comments, suggestions?

Copy what .dll it says you need to run spybot and download it it. Then run spybot again. or google how to get rid of winpatrol

One way that you can sometimes cheat and get out of situations like that is to use system restore. It's under Start: Programs: Accessories. Go back a day or two, then run all of your anti-spyware stuff after the restore. Most of the time, that'll take care of it.
