FedEx asks Redskins to change name

Here we go. I think part of the reason we’ve been safe from this kind of stuff is because the Redskins have always been a bigger target. Now that there’s pressure from sponsors Snyder is going to feel the heat like never before.

If they go down, make no mistake, the mob will come for us next.

It's not true.

Ask yourself this: If an expansion team from any league, whether it's the NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB, MLS or any minor league affiliate of the above, announced that their mascot is The Redskins, what do you think the public reaction would be today?

Indians is the dumbest name, ever, although if they decided to declare Ghandi as their new mascot and logo, I doubt there'd be much outcry to change their name.

Meh, if it helps to erase Native American Indian history (since that what we do to losers these days), I say go for it. They lost, we won, this is our land now. Is Sue the Sioux going to sue me now?

Not sure it's young people thinking that way, at least not in my experience. It's the older, entitled crowd that seems to want to make things illegal.

That franchise has been a disaster since Synder purchased it back in 1998 and while it's unlikely, it would probably be best for the franchise, city and fans if he sold the team.

But again, I think that's highly unlikely because Snyder likes playing God.

There seems to be a lot of interest in making the name "Red_____". So what are the options?

I've heard Red Tails (blatant pandering) and Redwolves (not a real word). There have to be better options.

Is Redheads gender-offensive? It applies to all seven gender categories, I think.

Redhots? Change the color to cinnamon.

Redistributionists would go over well with the liberal crowd, and it would reflect Haskins' interception rate.

Reductionists would work if you have no helmet logo.

Redliners - I actually kind of like that.

Redcoats - I don't think they held slaves, and it would reflect common sentiment towards Washington

Rednecks - Not sure if that's Washington's thing.

Redwoods - Wrong coast.

Redrums - I like that, but it might be insensitive.

Redo - Well, yeah. That's pretty much on spot.
