Mocking around

Trade

We trade our first round pick to the saints for their second round pick #45 and OT Trevor Penning.

Saints do it to move back into the first to grab either Penix or Nix. Getting the 5th year option on the young QB who can sit behind Carr for a year or two. The saints are frustrated with Penning and move on from him. Taking a tackle with their first pick.

Chiefs do it because there isn’t a tackle worthy at the end of round one or WR. Chiefs give Penning a shot with Heck. He can battle with Morris to be the starter or swing tackle

Draft

2. Ruke Orhorohor DT Clemson 6’4” 296- a ton of upside. Can learn from Jones. Could also play next to jones too. Gets a lot of reps in year one.

2. Tez Walker WR North Carolina 6’2” 190- speed. Field stretcher. Needs to work on consistency but could be really dynamic with Mahomes.

3. Brandon Coleman OL TCU 6’4” 326- played tackle in college and could be an emergency tackle. But kicks into guard. If Thuney isn’t healthy he can step in Day one at LG. If Thuney is healthy he is a good swing back up at 4 spots

4. Myles Cole DE/DT Texas Tech 6’6” 280- the Omenihu replacement. Has almost 37” arms. And ran a 4.6. Not a ton of production but a very high ceiling. Run stopping DE that can kick inside on passing downs but gives enough to stay on the outside sometimes.

5. Isaac Geurendo RB Louisville 6’1” 220- big strong back with lots of speed. Can be a short yardage guy and also work on the pass game. Takes some pressure off of Pacheco. These two and Prince would make a good backfield

5. Cedric Johnson DE Ole Miss 6’3” 260- athletic edge. Up to potential in college. But maybe Cullen can work his magic on him

7. Nick Garguilo OL South Carolina 6’5” 320- a transfer from Yale. Very smart kid. Great length and size. Tested very well at the combine. Can be an Allegretti replacement. Back up center and guard. Played mostly center in college.
