In the bottom of the second, you can't turn down the value if he's there. It enables you to get him up to speed this year, since he's coming from am fcs program, and you have a potential Perennial pro bowler to replace Thuney next year, enabling you to trade him or cut him to save about 9.5m against the cap in 24 and 22.6 against the cap in 25. Trading Thuney next year with two years of cheap control probably gets you a decent little draft return as well - at least a second I would think. Last edited by Nightfyre; 04-25-2023 at 09:51 AM.. |

You aren't the only one who has mocked him, but I didn't see your narrative at first. I would have strong reservations about taking a G prospect to sit a year (and likely two, as I don't think a Thuney trade would really materialize) with that pick. Trade out if there isn't a guy you love there, just don't take it on a depth guy at a non-premium position who doesn't project to contribute until 1/2 through his rookie contract. No trades; addressed major needs.
The more of these I do, the more I think we just smash the DLine early. |

Not even really counting those last two picks based on me not thinking that they'd be there.
31. Quentin Johnston, WR TCU 63. Luke Musgrave, TE Oregon State 95. Zacch Pickens, DT South Carolina 122. Wanya Morris, OT Oklahoma 134. Jaquelin Roy, DT LSU 166. Riley Moss, CB Iowa 178. YaYa Diaby, EDGE Louisville 217. Jose Ramirez, EDGE Eastern Michigan 249. Keondre Coburn, DT Texas 250. Nick Saldiveri, OT Old Dominion |

Here's my last mock of the cycle, completed on the ESPN simulator (which seems to have the best board right now).
1.31 Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame. Mayer slipped a little, the T I liked at this spot were gone, as were WR, and RB. So I nabbed Mayer with the plan of drastically ramping up the amount of 12 set I play in 23 and forward. This lets me use Kelce in the big slot role basically exclusively, while adding a nice playmaker long-term for Mahomes. 2.50 Mazi Smith, DT, Michigan. I made teh Mayer pick planning to move up into the middle of the 2nd for a DL player, and when Smith slipped, he became the pick. To facilitate, I sent 63, 134, and a 2024 3rd to Tampa for 50 and a 2024 5th. 3.84 Blake Freeland, OT, BYU. I wanted to add competition and versatility to the OL, and chose to move up to get Freeland and accomplish that. It cost me 95, 178, and a 2024 4th, though I again received a 2024 5th back. Odds are good one of those 5ths I've netted will be within 10 picks of the 4th I just surrendered. 4.122 Robert Beal, Jr, DE, Georgia. I reached a bit here for Beal, but I think he has a lot more in the tank after being relegated to a rotation in a deep and talented Georgia front. The Frank Clark comparisons make sense to me, and I could see him drastically outplaying this draft slot. 5.166 DeMarvion Overshown, LB, Texas. He has become one of my favorites in the middle rounds. ST guy in 23 with the ability to slide into a pass defending-LB role in 24 if both Tranquill and Gay price themselves out. 6217 Ronnie Bell, WR, Michigan. I finally return to the pass catchers and add an oft-injured but speedy and shift opton on offense. 7.249 Holton Ahlers, QB, Eastern Carolina. WIth back-to-back 7ths and no DBs I like really available, I swung on Ahlers, who could be a cheap long-term backup solution for Mahomes. 7.250 Dee Winters, LB, TCU. He's fast and fearless, if undersized. Seems like a good ST contributor, if nothing else. I would have really liked to squeeze in a DB somewhere in here (probably in place of one of the LB) but just never had someone in smart range that I actually liked and thought fit what KC does. Post draft depth: QB Mahomes/Gabbert (Ahlers to PS) RB Pacheco/Edwards-Helaire/FA FB ONLY RYAN TRACY AND ANDY REID CARE WR Toney/Valdes-Scantling/Moore/James/Watson/Bell TE Kelce/Mayer/Gray/Fortson OT Taylor/Niang/Freeland/Tano-Wanogho OG Thuney/Smith/Kinnard C Humphrey/FA DE Karlaftis/Omenihu/Danna/Beal/Vet FA DT Jones/Smith/Nnadi/Wharton LB Bolton/Tranquill/Gay/Chenal/Overshown/(Winters to PS) CB Sneed/McDuffie/Williams/Watson/ (this is where I'd like to slot in a DB instead of Winters in my draft or a FA) S Reid/Cook/Mike Edwards/Bush K Butker P Townsend LS Winchester By my count, that's 49 spots. I'd expect a few more DBs and WRs to flesh out the ST units. I'd feel really good about this squad. |

Noted that OT Zion Nelson was a potential 1st rounder early last season, then pulled out of the draft, now he's going in like the 7th... what happened?
Alternatively, I noticed DB Quinyon Mitchell was a 7th rounder last year and upgraded to 2-4th rounder this draft depending on the site. Good for him! |

Do any allow for player trades?
I recall the feature, but can't recall which simulator had it. |

No enough WRs imo, that 6th round pick needs looking at.

lol I was running out of WRs with ridiculous athletic traits and/or stats.
Bring these 7-8 WRs in and let Rice and Toney compete, kick all others to the curb. Last edited by Couch-Potato; 11-22-2023 at 06:27 AM.. |
