The Motorcycle Discussion Thread

I figure there are some motorcycle guys/gals on CP, so I thought we could have a place to talk all things Motorcycles.

Tire Mount and Balance Prices (as of 10/29/16)

Prices based on if you remove the wheels yourself and bring the wheels and new tires with you:

Cycle Gear - $35 per wheel if you buy tires from them. $58 per wheel if you buy tires elsewhere
Rawhide - $65 per wheel (assuming it would be the same at other HD dealers. they book it at 1/2 hr per wheel)
C R Cycle Tires (DeSoto) - $30 per wheel

Cheapest I've found my Michelin Commander II's. Seem like they have good prices on other brands too.
http://www.jakewilson.com - Free 3 day shipping on orders over $75

It was his bike, I don't want to drop it again trying that. Damn those things are heavy. I'm trying get lighter, not heavier.

I'm not so much worried about the cops pulling me over for it, but I do worry about cagers. People who aren't expecting it and don't watch for it, and vigilante drivers who would be stupid and try to run me over for "breaking the law." If I need to move to cool down the engine I take the shoulder, but I feel 100% lane splitting, or "filtering" as its known in europe, should be allowed.

I just bought an old 250 honda enduro to screw around on. I almost have more fun on it then I did on my old 1500 Mean Streak. I paid $600 for it so I just beat the shit out.

My favorite bike was my first. I paid 300 for it. I think it was like a 1980 cb125? Dirt bike ...it was a 4 stroke. Heavy ass bike, damn thing was indestructible.

Yeah, it’s been great. Went on what was supposed to be a quick ride yesterday with my brother, and we ended up in Topeka, then back in through Lawrence, Tonganoxie, McClouth, Leavenworth, home.
Probably nearly 200 miles and about 6 hours later, I got home lol.
Me to my wife at 11:00am: “I’m going for a quick ride. I shouldn’t be too long”

Speaking of Topeka – Scorp: are you selling your Street Glide? I saw the ad on Cycle Trader I think.

Yeah it is that time to move in another direction. It is a great bike, I am practically giving it away.

Most definitely, maybe a road glide. Haven't had one of those yet. Time will tell.
