What would the Packers rather have, a retired Aaron Rodgers or three first round picks + KJ Hamler and Michael Ojemudia? Rodgers can dictate where he wants to go, because nobody is going to give up a haul for a player who isn't going to report. Also, there aren't really any QB needy teams in the AFC who have the cap space ready to go for Rodgers, and the Packers don't have the cap space to fit an expensive QB coming back in the deal after eating Rodgers' dead money. The Broncos are the perfect spot. |

Also, Rodgers is not choosing retirement over a new contract and security in GB

At this point the best play for the Packers is to offer him what he wants financially and if he doesn’t show up, call his bluff. Force him to sit out.
Whatever team get Rodgers will have late draft picks. A team that wants Rodgers will have a mid 1st at worst next Spring+ cost controlled quality players to offer if they trade him next offseason. It also makes sense to keep him bc there is no leverage right now. Next March they could tak to Miami and Philly who have multiple 1st rd draft picks from bad/avg teams and good cost controlled players to offer. Denver would lose out on that bidding war |

Denver has the space and is setup to compete for however long he wants to play. Denver is the 2020 Bucs and the Packers are the 2020 Saints and Rodgers knows it. Last edited by Quesadilla Joe; 05-28-2021 at 12:02 PM.. |

Yeah. If it a cap hit either way.
Green bay is the type to piss him off and keep him and then franchise him. Then no other teams benefit either. Denver doesn't have enough to offer with what they would lose in players/draft picks. Then still be only the 2nd team in the division. |

Keep telling yourself that, right up until the minute he stays in GB. More like Denver is in the perfect spot to get played, so Rodgers can get what he wants from GB. |

The Chiefs are going with Hill and Hardman and the Colts have had T.Y. and Parris Campbell. Green Bay can make it work. |

You're just as delusional now as you were about Mahomes being a reach / bust. How's that working out? |

Just like with Trey Lance, you will disappear again soon after getting your hopes up only to be disappointed in the end. This time it will be for the entire season. |

Rodgers is expected to count as $37M against the cap this season.
The Broncos have $15M in cap space. |

Rodgers would count for $14.7M against the Broncos' cap in 2021 because the Packers have already paid his roster bonus and are on the hook for his prorated signing bonus.

1. They aren’t trading him. 2. They aren’t doing it for a couple late 1st round picks and your trash if they did. |
