I suppose incentives reached would boost his $32.5 million for franchise tag up.

Best move for player if team does not make an extension offer you want to accept.

Play out current deal and get a personal insurance policy to replace prospective salary lost to serious injury.

The only way he does not get a better deal than what the Chiefs reportedly offered for 2024 and 2025, $54.5 Million, is if his performance declines and it is not due to an injury.

Players should do that more than they do. Just play out current deal, get a personal insurance policy and prove who you are as a football player, and hit the market.

Hopefully? Doesn't he need to sign the tag? Will he be as valuable as we think if he doesn't repeat last year? I honestly see the tag and trade option a lot, but wonder how practical it really would be.

If that was truly the desired result, the agents chose some horrible tactics. I suspect if he had a better agent with more experience, none of this would’ve happened as it did. Sad for everyone involved.

We arent getting a 1st round draft pick for a guy who turns 30 this offseason and wants Aaron Donald money. I dont care if the dude wins DPOY.

You may be right, but that's absolutely silly. One of the greatest Chiefs ever. Had a strong hand in securing BOTH of our recent Superbowl championships, in fact it seems doubtful either happens without him. And now he's back and could take us on another run.

He missed one game. Everybody needs to get over it, immediately.

I don't particularly care if we get a first for him. We just need some draft capital to move up in the first round if we feel the need to.

Lmfao a one-year incentive-laden deal. What an absolute dumpster fire for CJ and his team. Basically we make him play his ****ing ass off for all the money he already would’ve earned and maybe a little more. Or he gets nothing if he poops it up on the field and we trade him.

This is masterful work by Veach.

Remember how Donald got that huge contract and then got injured? That absolutely will figure into Jones' next contract if he misses significant time due to injury.
