A previous ESPN report indicated Jacksonville was seeking "at least one" first-rounder in exchange for Ramsey, the team's fifth overall pick back in 2016. Since then, per Russini, one NFC team has offered a 2020 first and 2021 fifth-rounder for the star defensive back, while one AFC team has offered a 2020 first along with a player.

It's really not the first round pick as much as losing cheap controllable talent. Teams like the Colts and Pats would trade out of the first round with Manning and Brady, but they'd often get multiple picks out of it to find guys to fill out the roster beyond the superstars.

That's really the only concern. Eventually you risk surrounding Mahomes with a lesser team because you haven't filled out the roster with controllable talent.

Yea, I totally buy the Chiefs not being in on Ramsey after the Patriots added Gordon and AB. Totally makes sense.

I’ll be completely and utterly shocked if Ramsey isn’t a Chief. Could be wrong, but..

...or you keep the picks, they don't pan out, and you're still in the same situation.

Again...established elite talent over draft picks 10 out of 10 times.
