The Motorcycle Discussion Thread

I figure there are some motorcycle guys/gals on CP, so I thought we could have a place to talk all things Motorcycles.

Tire Mount and Balance Prices (as of 10/29/16)

Prices based on if you remove the wheels yourself and bring the wheels and new tires with you:

Cycle Gear - $35 per wheel if you buy tires from them. $58 per wheel if you buy tires elsewhere
Rawhide - $65 per wheel (assuming it would be the same at other HD dealers. they book it at 1/2 hr per wheel)
C R Cycle Tires (DeSoto) - $30 per wheel

Cheapest I've found my Michelin Commander II's. Seem like they have good prices on other brands too.
http://www.jakewilson.com - Free 3 day shipping on orders over $75

In case anyone down there/near there, or going there...here is the route we took. North of the lake, the roads had a very good mix of 25/35/45 MPH turns, switch backs, a few blind curves over the hills. South was pretty much a 60mph shot throuh the turns etc.

I was wondering about 125. 160 looks like a good ride too. I'll have to hit them both next time I'm in the area.

I'm a small guy. 130ish pounds. Thoughts on this? Better alternatives at, or below, $20K?

Interested in longer trips (like Phoenix to the Grand Canyon) and jetting around Scottsdale.

Yeah, the breakouts are killer. check out the Yamaha/Star Raider. pretty much the equivelant / market share of the Breakout.

are you taking trips to Grand Canyon from KC? or are you fairly close to it?

I'm in Phoenix for now. The bike will go to SoCal with me and I am planning on a lot of road trips up, down and throughout the state.
