2019 Free agency Thread

We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.

If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.

Are there any free agent WR's still out there that would be worth a damn? We're a little thin there.

Of that group, maybe Kearse.

It would be a one year deal I guess so it wouldn't matter. Probably wait til after the draft.

But Mahomes Hill and Jones are must re signs. Jones will probably get paid this off season. Hill probably next off season and same with Mahomes
This. But, I am puzzled how guys think we can do this and then still trade for Clark AND give him a new contract that he would be willing to sign?

Watkins and Hitchens are his 2 big $ deals and at this point, both are overpays based on production.
Sammy Watkins was the 20th highest paid receiver at $7.8 million last year. That’s not “overpaying” in terms of cap hit.

He’s being paid huge money one time, this year.

If the Chiefs aren’t happy with him, they can easily cut him in 2020 and save $14 million and be completely clean of any dead money the following year.

That’s a great contract and exactly what we should be doing.

I've got no problem with the Watkins' contract.

Hitchens on the other hand...ugly so far.

Better in that he hasnt' signed long term shit birds and has kept them at 3 years but still, he's had to overpay for talent in free agency.
If you want anyone who is halfway decent of a player in FA, you have to overpay.

The outside free agents wasnt' what got Dorsey in hot water.

Veach hasn't really had to sign any of his own yet. That's probably gonna change here pretty soon.
