2024 Salary Cap increases ~$30m

So you're telling me there's a chance (on Jones and Sneed)...

4/120 seems like a steal tbh. I’d straight up do this deal 4/120 with 90 mil guaranteed

I dont think people realize that without Jones we may have zero super bowls right now.

1) In Fourth quarter of first Super Bowl Jones knocked down 3 crucial passes
2) In AFC Championship games Jones sacked burrow on third down, if Burrow has time he completes the pass and game is over as it’s under 2 minutes at that point.
3) Third Super Bowl Jones pressured Purdy where if he didn’t Aiyuk had a wide open touchdown. He also had the critical rush against the Bills where he pushed the lineman back into Allen just enough where Allen’s pass was short of Shakir in the end zone. If not for Jones that’s a wide open touchdown.

Jones deserves everything and then more. He is as clutch as they come

I don't think Veach is going to be trading for any players any time soon. I think

1.) The Frank Clark deal was easily his worst move since he's taken over, and he probably learned his lesson from that one (O-city be damned!)

2.) At this point we're looking to do the opposite and add draft capital so we can keep as many cheap rookie contributors as possible on our roster.

Agreed. Honestly, my only issue with the Hardman deal was giving up a 6th and 7th rounders in 2025.

If the Chiefs were projected to have about $20 million in salary cap space before this increase, they’ll now have $50+ million… and that’s before any contract restructurings/releasing players.

FWIW Trevor Sikkema, who's local to Tampa, is pretty sure Evans doesn't want to leave.

I would be shocked if they let him go somewhere else. Baker is not nearly good enough to win consistently with average or below average weapons.

Yep, but I think they only have like 35 guys under contract.

The Jefferson situation is definitely worth exploring for the Chiefs.

The Chiefs need to find a new alpha/go to player in their passing game to replace Kelce.

Kelce turns 35 years old this season… that’s just a reality.

Jefferson will be just 25 years old at the start of next season… he could have 5-7 years easily as the next alpha player in the Chiefs passing game.

Of course there are a lot of hurdles… he might be asking for an absurdly ridiculous contract, the Vikings may ask for an absurd asking price to trade him (although if he’s determined not to resign there if Cousins leaves, they’ll have a limited time-frame to maximize their trade leverage), etc, but the possibility is worth exploring.

Jefferson wants to reset the WR market. I don't believe there is a world where we keep Jones + Sneed and sign an elite WR.

I could see a world where we sign Jones, tag 'n trade Sneed, then sign/trade for an elite WR...but I don't see a world where we do all three.

I think everyone has just accepted that we can't afford him. Sneed and Jones will take priority. And with Chenal in the fold the drop off in production shouldn't be much.

But i agree, i'd love to keep him. He's a leader on our defense and one of the most athletic guys out there.
