-- Dear Jody Fortson

Hello Jody Fortson, I wanted to tell you that I'm messaging you on Facebook to let you know that you were one of my favorite 'up and cuming' players on my all-time favorite team the KC Chiefs! Additionally I am proud of all the success you have had and wish you nothing but the fastest recovery ever! Also, my very favorite website on the internet is www.chiefsplanet.com all my friends over there wish you nothing but the best. PS, you have a nice smile, and you know what they say about that!...? ...Anyhow, Godspeed to you and in the mean-time get the nose in that playbook. Future is looking better each passing day. Get well!

Simply Red on www.chiefsplanet for Mr. Jody Fortson from my friends + me <3

I don't really see that Darren Waller comparison. I feel like he's more of a Tee Higgins, just a big wide receiver.

Him playing at TE is just going to have teams trying to cover him with linebackers until they figure it out.

The Chiefs have so many options at receiver now. Feeling better and better about losing Hill and the gravity he demanded for lack of a better term.

Now I feel like Mahomes is really going to go to the guy who is open, making it much harder to defend. I know I'm not saying anything new, it's just great to watch.

He reminds me of a better combination of Tony Gonzalez, Jason Witten, Shannon Sharpe, Kellen Winslow, Darren Waller, Jimmy Graham, Rob Gronkowski, George Kittle, Antonio Gates, Mike Ditka, and Ozzie Newsome.

Which makes him about half as good as Travis Kelce. Still pretty good tho!

We don't really utilize a traditional TE, as in an in-line, blocker first, receiver second type TE. (Well, we do, but that's Bell's job.) Like a Gronk or a Kittle. It's part of why fans of those guys want to pooh-pooh Kelce's achievements. We move TE's around pre-snap, we split 'em out wide, we put them in the slot, we do all kinds of stuff. Things that are designed to find and exploit mismatches.

Waller is kind of on the other side of Kelce from your Gronk/Kittle types and your Kelce type. Faster than all, but not much of a prototypical TE. He's your big WR type, so I get the Fortson comparison although I expect Fortson's forte to be more like a Gonzales -post up, go up and get it type of TE.

Nothing at all wrong with that. If Gray continues to improve too, he's more like your Kelce Jr. skillset.

We didn't get the chance to snake Calvin Ridley's skillset from the Falcons, maybe Fortson can give us Kyle Pitts' skillset though.

EDIT - Martha Fockin' NFL/YT restrictions

All good points. Waller is a physical freak though and outweighs Fortson by 30 pounds. I think I last heard that Fortson was running at like 225, that's definitely receiver esque

Fortson is like if you combine Jerry Rice, Deion Sanders, Patrick Ewing, and Mario Lemieux and put him in at TE!!!
