What are you asking exactly? Maybe I'm just not understanding your point.
The point is that like in SF with Harbaugh, getting close means nothing, especially when everything falls apart shortly after.

Harbaugh got close with Alex, then he got even closer with Kaepernick, but nobody gave a **** when it all came crashing down. Eagles fans wanted Sirianni fired just a year later, and they aren't exactly wrong/crazy for feeling that way.

This isn't even a calculated move..
Their starting WRs next year are probably Josh Palmer and Johnston..their offensive core is Justin Herbert..a LT and guard..

Defensively it's a bunch of overpaid guys mixed with never was guys.

Little Nicky pulled the classic move of firing both coordinators to save his own job. Pathetic move.

ah.

Well, not to be a picker-of-nits, but Harbaugh inherited a 6-10 team and led them to a 13-3 season, that ended in the NFCCG.

Then in 2012, he led SF to a 11-4-1 record, that ended in the SB.

Then he did it again in 2013, taking them to a 12-4 record and another trip to the NFCCG.

So, I'm not certain your point comes with a lot of merit. Certainly Harbaugh's record in SF seems to be contrary to your point.

Regardless, LAC isn't SF, especially in terms of ownership/FO. So we'll see.

But Harbaugh is a really good coach. And if there's a way, he'll find it and make LAC into an actual contender. And then we'll just have to see what happens.

Not next season. Probably not the one after that either. You gotta figure that the earliest that they could be ready would be 2026.

Don't understand this one for Harbaugh. That team is going to need to be torn down damn near to the foundation then built back up again, all the while you're expected to compete with the Chiefs.

I think he wanted to get out of Michigan before it hit the fan. There is some rebuilding work to do but I'd bet he's fine with that. They have a QB who can sling it, probably sign some budget guys next year and coach them up and turn them into a power offense. Have to wonder if David Shaw might be in the mix somewhere.
