I retract this. KCCROW set me straight in another thread - he probably will not be there in our range and I accept that. Thanks KCCROW Last edited by Stryker; 03-17-2024 at 08:38 PM.. |

Yeah I don't get it. He's a pretty fluid athlete but I'm not sure that means it's worth dicking him around trying to wedge him in at LT

Jordan Morgan has 32 7/8 arms, so basically 33. That’s the line for me. Wouldn’t hold that against him.

I like resigning D. Smith and taking a development guy.

What if the front office sees Morris as the starter? Then we are drafting for a swing out PTW is the swing |

We are lucky it is a deep draft at OT, he could fall to us. There are some developmental tackles who have upside, but I think this guy is at the bottom of the list of 1st rounders who you could plug and play. It scares me to death that we would even consider handing over the job to Morris.

Now it's just something I'm willing to keep an open mind on given that we appear to have a draft fairly deep with RT prospects but a little less so at LT. Guys with shorter arms or slower feet that may not be great on the left side but sure seem to have good tools for RT. Whereas Taylor has the length, feet and athleticism to play LT. As we often discuss at LT, there's just not a lot of guys that have the physical tools to play on an island out there. Taylor doesn't have the experience, but he does have the tools. And there's a solid chance that the guy we're looking into picking at 32 is lacking one or more of those 'left tackle' sort of tools. I'm just saying don't pass on a guy like Morgan because you think he's a RT long-term. Because I think you MIGHT have a solid transition candidate in Taylor who would allow us to take someone like Latham or Mims or Morgan and get strong year 1 contributions from them. |

I think if the chiefs trade up, it’s going to for sure be for a receiver. The amount of tackles that have been traded up for in the 10-15 range isn’t many. If somehow the chiefs land in the top 10, they aren’t picking alt, they are picking Odunze. All in all though, don’t expect any trade ups. I’d be willing to lay 10:1 that if Chiefs do ACTUALLY trade up in the draft at all, it will be to secure Worthy.
I could see maybe MAYBE if somehow Fashanu drops they might reactively try to get something done. The others really aren’t worth trading up. Another thing to consider is we are in the middle of a dynasty with the potential GOAT entering prime. Do we really want to place the responsibility on a rookie to protect his blindside? That seems really really foolish. I think it’s highly unlikely they select a OT in the first round at all. I think they may take a guy like Kingsley later on who has massive upside. And I wouldn’t mind that at all. Not to say we don’t need help on the line because we definitely do. Mahomes one of the most hurried QBs in the NFL last year, he just played excellently and avoided sacks. I don’t know who’s on the market, but they should forget about paying sneed and allocate funds to help on the line. Keep our guy clean, esp against the emo raiders. Veach will NEVER trade the kind of capital it would take to get into the top 10 for a ****ing WR. Never. Not even in the realm of reality. Veach and Reid follow the pillar position mantra with absolution. QB, OT, DE, CB. If it isn't one of those 4 positions, forget about it because it is never going to happen, I'm 100% confident of that.
And yeah, you trust a QB to be protected by a rookie if he's good enough. Would I trust him to a guy like Mims or Guyton who doesn't have a ton of starting experience and it's all on the right side? **** no. Would I trust him to Fautanu or Fashanu? Yep. I'd trust him to Morgan too. You have to differentiate experienced and able day one from inexperienced with traits, much like should be done in the obsession with WRs. |

What's great about Fautanu is his versatility. He can play both LT and guard. Polenisian bloodlines. Very solid personality, smart and humble.
As draft history has shown us, great OTs can only be had in the 1st round. So if you have to swing for one, this draft is the chance to do it with the great depth at the position. |

Top 10 trade not happening at all. IF it did, it would be for a WR or a DE. Never a OT. I will bet you 1k we can escrow the money to whatever poster you want on here if they verify their identity on social media, that if we trade up it’s not for a OT. I’ll actually give you 10-1 1k max payout that if a trade up happens it’s WR vs any other position. Thoughts? |
