If Veach and Reid thought he didn't have an NFL skill-set, he wouldn't be there, full stop.

Is it a bottom of the roster type skill-set or a top end skill-set? No idea.

But if he didn't belong, he wouldn't be there.

Odell payed Baltimore to pay him. So he wouldn't be embarrassed in KC by Ross

It would help to see a bunch of 5'11 defensive backs covering him so you can see how big this guy is.

Mecole and JuJu gone. No free veteran free agent WRs signed. One WR drafted. We've got a spot open and I won't be surprised if Justyn Ross makes his first catch in our season opener.

We signed Rich James.
Toney
MVS
Sky
Rice
James
Watson

He is going to have to beat out Watson or James to get a spot.

I'm pulling for the kid. I love the story, and he's the only body type of his kind on the roster.

I'm not saying I'm counting on anything, I'm just saying I am inclined to hope for him succeed.

If they don’t have a FB on the 53 it opens up a spot for a 4th TE or possibly 7th WR.

And keep a FB or FB/TE hybrid on the ps ready to call up.

They should just use Gray for that stuff, honestly. With a young WR corps it makes more sense to keep that open spot for them.

Agreed. I'm more inclined to think we will dump Watson for Ross (if the merit is there) but I could see them only carrying 3 TE and 7 WR.

Watson's a pretty useful security blanket, I don't know. He has the size and speed and experience in the offense to literally fill in for anyone, anywhere, and also plays Teams.

Pretty much been my thinking. 6’3 240 and short arms he’s built for the role he plays plus filling in at FB. They can also lineup allegretti or whoever to blow a hole open in short yardage. The undrafted RB from Tulsa being 220 is nice as well for short yardage stuff.
