FedEx asks Redskins to change name

Here we go. I think part of the reason we’ve been safe from this kind of stuff is because the Redskins have always been a bigger target. Now that there’s pressure from sponsors Snyder is going to feel the heat like never before.

If they go down, make no mistake, the mob will come for us next.

Weren't there some slave ships with Commanders on them? Or were they all captained by full-bird skippers?

Should’ve been the Washington Fat Cats. The logo could be an overweight cat with dollar signs for eyes and a hat that says "Social Security" pouring a bucket that says "Alternative Minimum Tax" over a sad Statue of Liberty holding a "Democracy" umbrella.

It’s almost too obvious IMO.

Is there any strong names that wouldn't be bad by today's rules?

The new women's soccer team here is the Auroras.

Oooooo tough

Commanders?

I'm sorry. I can't support that. Compersonders is not male-centric.

Comper Sonders sounds like a character from a dystopian teen novel.

They should have gone with Washington Football Club and stuck with it. Sounds much more classy. Commanders sounds like a made up name from the movie Any Given Sunday.

So I live in the DC area. It’s funny that a whole generation of younger fans want nothing to do with the Washington franchise. Dan Snyder is a terrible person and it shows through the way he manages and the record of the team. Nobody cares about the WFT any more. I’ve trained my kids well. They’ve grown up in the DC suburbs but are die-hard Chiefs fans.

Commodores is meh. Whatever. Who cares.

The NBA team changed its name a few decades ago from the Bullets to the Wizards. Fine to change that name but they abandoned a cool color scheme to a stupid name and a fruity logo with some little wizard. It was so bad. While they still go by the stupid “Wizards” name, one thing they did right was they went back to the old Bullets color scheme and came up with a cool new logo (10 years ago maybe) for the team that has nothing to do with a ****ing Wizard.

I guess WFT is learning from that debacle. Change the name if you must, but don’t **** with the coloring and keep logos simple.
