2019 Free agency Thread
We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.
If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research. https://overthecap.com/ |

Anyway, Kpass's combine drills would indicate that he moves particularly well for a man of his size, so I'm still hopeful that Daly can tap the talent. |

I think rounds 4-7 are for 'projects' at skill positions, offensive linemen other than left tackles, and depth/special teamers. Your first 3 rounds should be geared towards quality starters. |

Just in case you guys didn't know, Kpassagnon was widely talked to be a 2nd-3rd round pick leading up to the 2017 draft.
And no one will be criticizing the pick if he becomes a great player. You just have to be patient sometimes. |

You can't be patient for these guys to show something or develop in that long of a time frame, because of the contract situation.

both are true.
The wisdom of the pick is now irrelevant; it's history. I do think it's possible he can be a good player, and with Daly as DL coach, it's about as good a chance as he'll get. |

So was Junior Siavii leading up to that draft. Some guys get overdrafted based on measurables even though they aren't really football players. Just saying...

1. QB’s 2. Mid rd picks You can’t take projects in the first 2 rds of the draft. You only get 4 years with these guys before they get paid. |

Is Kpass going to be awesome? probably not. Is there still a good chance he's going to be a solid contributor? Yeah. He's finally going to be in his true position, with a good position coach, in a scheme that should play to his abilities. I like the chances. I'm not banking on him, but I like the chances. |

In the case of Kpassagnon though, there were star players playing in front of him but mostly, it is possible he was outcast in the 3-4 scheme. We will have a better idea this year. It would be different if he had been playing in a 4-3 all along. Just like Veach might have miscalculated the fit of Hitchens in a 3-4, Dorsey might have miscalculated the fit of Kpassagnon in a 3-4. All in all though, it has been years the Chiefs haven't had a bust with their early picks. They actually used to have tons of them. Sooner or later it will happen again unfortunately. |
