And I agree, I don't like it. I don't really like the Peacock people. Or the Comcast people.
The worst people on Earth is still a little strong, poor fantasy grandma starving because she forgot to stop paying peacock six dollars lmao |

The real million dollar mystery is what number NBC was targeting to make it a success. They knew they were going to leave viewers on the table. How many did they need to get to make this all worth it? The factor people aren't considering is everyone who showed up in the ratings watched this on Peacock and had to pay NBC directly, and it's 100% going to them. That may be better than letting twice as many people watch it on antenna or cable companies they don't have control over. |

Another thing to consider is how many viewers were already subscribers, producing no incremental revenue (other than advertising views). There are supposedly 30 million subscribers prior to the Chiefs game, which translates to roughly 75 million people. So probably one-quarter of their viewers just had the TV on as opposed to paying extra.

Peacock exclusive playoff game is stupid
Quote:
There were no ads during the 4th quarter. They announced it at the beginning of the quarter. Even breaks like the 2 minute warning they didn’t have any, they showed what was happening on the sidelines. On Peacock anyway, don’t know about broadcast. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

The shows that ran on NBC in the markets that didn't show the game, dominated viewership.
It was an orgy of money made for NBC. Next year they'll go after the principled too. Maybe a nice tele-thon for the halftime show. |
