How do you save money?

Everything is so damn expensive that I don’t know how anyone is making ends meet. I just won some money and paid off all credit cards and two vehicles so that helped but I made enchiladas tonight and it cost 22.00! You can’t make a trip to sams without dropping several hundred. Eating out, OMG ! Anyways how do you guys/gals save money on life ?
What are your hacks?

Pretty blessed with a big gap between take home pay and bills.

Invest and save a decent amount but not excessive.

I don't have to worry about leaving money for anyone so it makes things much less complicated.

I have no idea how a family of 5 with 3 teenagers can afford things making less than $150k a year. Prices of everything for families has gone through the roof.

If you are insecure enough to feel the need to prove to internet strangers endlessly (and probably lie) that your life is not shitty then lack of empathy is really just one problem in a host of many others.

Obviously, I only shit at Kohls and that saves me both on water and TP. I figure with discipline to carry this out, I’ll be able to enjoy one full day of retirement compliments of this strategy alone.

I haven't paid for cable for over 10 years. That has been an enormous savings. For a long time I beg borrowed and stole people's passwords for online access and apps, or I would just go to people's houses to watch sports. I finally broke down and got Netflix a few years back and just 2 months ago I got Peacock to watch Sunday night football at home.

My girlfriend recently got behind in her bills and when I set up her budget, I pointed out next to her rent and car payment, her biggest expense was TV. Crazy how much it costs now. I think it was less than $100/month the last time I paid for it.

I also put everything on a credit card and pay it off every pay day (every 2 weeks). The points I earn I have converted to money that is deposited into my Roth.

I also do this. I've paid off every vehicle I've ever owned. Never traded something in with a balance due. When I pay the vehicle off I keep making car payments, but those get deposited into an investment account until time to get a new vehicle. My next vehicle I should be able to finance myself with trade value and cash that I've squirreled away since I paid off my truck 2 years early.

Max out 401k.

Make more than you spend monthly

Don’t be a broke dick and not have a good job.

Bring home 3-5 times you’re monthly bills.

If your monthly bills are 4k a month you should bring home at least 16k a month.
